Maze ft Fankie Beverly - The Golden Time Of Day 1978 1. Travelin' Man - (with Maze) 2. Song For My Mother - (with Maze) 3. You're Not the Same - (with Maze) 4. Workin' Together - (with Maze) 5. Golden Time of Day - (with Maze) 6. I Wish You Well - (with Maze) 7. I Need You - (with Maze) The second Maze album expanded appreciably on the style established by the group's debut. Where the latter was split evenly between straight-up funk and R&B, GOLDEN TIME OF DAY offers subtler shadings. With its insistent rhythmic vamp and group-vocal chorus, "Travelin' Man" bears echoes of fellow Californians War, and "Song for My Mother" leans toward the Philly soul that was a strong part of Maze's background. "You're Not the Same" has a touch of Latin rhythm, accentuated by Maze's three-man percussion section. "Workin' Together" combines a grinding funk rhythm with a positive social message. The lush balladry that would later prove to be a key part of Maze's sound is represented by the title track and "I Wish You Well." GOLDEN TIME OF DAY comes to an end with the slinky, atmospheric epic "I Need You," a band showcase that feels like a theme in search of a 1970s blaxploitation film. With their sophomore album, Maze clearly showed no signs of slowing down. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ix9x1ooxza2 enjoy!!! (2hrs total rippin/posting)
