A wonderful album by one of the last great vocal groups to come out of Chicago -- a harmony quintet to rival the greatness of any the east coast had to offer! Although recorded for the smoother-sounding Chi-Soul label, the album's got an approach that's quite similar to some of the best east coast indie work of the same period -- a spare, open quality on the heartbreaking ballads, mixed with a fuller, more dynamic range on the uptempo groovers! The group's harmonies are tremendous -- really well-crafted and personal, and never falling into any sort of cliche. Carl Davis produced, and kicks off the album with the strong groover "Windy City Theme" -- done here in a vocal version that's as perfect an anthem to our hometown as we could ever hope for! Other cuts include the sublime slow track "Let Me Ride", plus versions of Sam Dees' wonderful "Good Guys Don't Always Win" and "Fool Or Your Man".
1. Windy City Theme 2. Something's Missing 3. Win Or Lose 4. Gimmie Some 5. Feeling Like I Don't Belong 6. Let Me Ride 7. Learnin' 8. Good Guys Don't Always Win 9. Fool, Or Your Man 10. I've Got Mine 11. If By Chance http://www.mediafire.com/?0jcs9fdottt hassle-free ENJOY!!!
Thanks for putting me on this album (and all the others...I love your site!!!)."Let Me Ride", "Win Or Lose", and "If By Chance" are absolute beasts! Thanks again!
