Yo
Not really sure what this is but I look forward to the experience. Anyone have any suggestions for good jazz vibraphone? I've heard some random stuff and I liked it. Any good lesser known trumpeters?

taro nombei said...

For vibes, you have to start with Bobby Hutcherson, also Milt jackson, or if you like the classic older music try Lionel Hampton.
As for trumpet (assuming you're up to speed with Freddy and Chet and Miles and Dizzy and Louis), try Charles Tolliver, Lee Morgan and Don Cherry. Of the earlier generation, you have Maynard Furguson and Clifford Brown. Right here and now, check out Roy Hargrove and Arturo Sandoval.
Enjoy -- I know you will!
